At the heart of the mission of Virginia United Methodist Homes of Williamsburg, Inc. (VUMHW) is the Samaritan Program, a benevolent fund which provides financial assistance to residents who have outlived their monetary resources and, through no fault of their own, can no longer afford the full cost of their care. Benevolent assistance has been given in VUMH communities since 1948.
Current estimates of people over the age of 100 in this country are as high as 72,000, and the number is only expected to grow. Yet with ever increasing longevity, more and more of us wonder if we will be able to financially support ourselves into our 80s, 90s, even possibly our 100s. Financial reversals and unforeseen circumstances can be contributing factors to needing help from the Samaritan Program. Tax deductible gifts from generous people ensure the personal security and peace of mind for our most vulnerable residents. Please make a generous gift for residents who need confidential financial assistance now or in the future. There are a number of ways to make a gift:
- Outright contribution
- Gifts by trust or wills
- Life insurance policy
- IRA or stock
You can give on-line by credit or debit card or mail a contribution by check.
