Q. Why was the name "WindsorMeade" chosen?
A. The name colorfully blends two Colonial-era words: "Windsor," the principal residence
     of British sovereigns, and "meade," a royal meadow.
Q. Describe WindsorMeade.
A. WindsorMeade is a full service retirement community for independent people 62 and
     over who want an attractive residence in a beautiful, natural setting blended with the               convenience of household services and the security of lifelong health care.
Q. Who owns WindsorMeade?
A. Virginia United Methodist Homes, Inc. (VUMH), a Virginia non-profit corporation founded
    in 1948, owns and operates WindsorMeade.
Q. Where is WindsorMeade being built?
A. WindsorMeade is being built on a 106-acre site in Williamsburg, Virginia, near the
    intersection of Route 199 and Monticello Avenue in James City County.
Q. WindsorMeade will be a non-profit certified Continuing Care Retirement Community.
     What does that mean?
A. It means that independent living residents at WindsorMeade are provided with lifetime
    residency, assisted living, and nursing care, should it be needed.
Q. Is WindsorMeade non-denominational?
A. Our retirement communities are open to people of all faiths.
Q. What happens if my apartment or villa is ready, but my house has not yet sold?
A. We will work with you in this situation and will attempt to reach an agreement that will
    be mutually beneficial.
Q. How many villa and apartments will be built?
A. There will be 85 apartments in Windsor Hall (the main building), which is attached to a
    Town Center and the Living Links To Wellness Center™. There will be 96 villas located in a     Village Green neighborhood.
Q. Will there be accommodations for my overnight guests?
A. Guestrooms will be available in Windsor Hall at a reasonable cost.
Q. What about security?
A. Security personnel will be on duty 24 hours each day. Every residence has an emergency
    call system.
Q. Will "help" be available if needed?
A. Residents will find a caring, considerate staff available to provide support and help
    whenever it's needed, for virtually any reason.
Q. If a spouse transfers to a nursing home or dies, does the remaining spouse need to
     transfer to a smaller living unit?
A. No. At WindsorMeade your apartment or house is your home, and we will not require you
    to move simply because the size of the household has changed.
Q. What if I want to change from one apartment or house to another one?
A. Residents will be able to transfer to different locations and to larger or smaller residences
    as they become available.
Q. Will residents of WindsorMeade pay real estate taxes or need homeowner's insurance?
A. You should carry content or renter's insurance to cover your furnishings or personal
    belongings. You will pay no taxes over what might be included in the Monthly Fee. If any     taxes are incurred by WindsorMeade, they will be included in the fees.
Q. Will the dining room service be cafeteria style?
A. In the main dining room, residents will have formal, seated service with several menu
    selections. There will be informal dining, carry out services and a Café Bistro available to all     residents and family members.
Q. Will Monthly Fees include meals?
A. To help with staffing, planning and fixed costs, Monthly Fees will include some meals.
     However, we will make the program as flexible as possible.
Q. Can we bring our pets?
A. Yes, we are a pet friendly community, you have the freedom of bringing your pets.
