Retiring in a community that’s good for your heart, mind and soul isn’t just idle talk at WindsorMeade of Williamsburg. We believe your health and wellness should be a top priority, as you begin to enjoy the next stage of your life. Resident life, health and wellness are provided in a manner consistent with the values and heritage of Christian beliefs. The communities of Virginia United Methodist Homes, Inc. (VUMH) offer a continuum of resident life, health and wellness services and programs which enhance the social, spiritual, emotional, intellectual, physical and mental health needs of the resident.
Our health and wellness philosophy views the day-to-day life of the resident as a great gift. This gift is to be wrapped with independence and dignity. That is the underlying philosophy that governs WindsorMeade and its parent organization, Virginia United Methodist Homes, Inc.
VUMH recognizes aging as a natural process that affects each person in a unique manner. Age alone does not determine the amount or type of care and assistance an older person needs in order to function at his or her highest level. The individual’s physical, social, psychological and spiritual well-being is of paramount concern. Residents have the opportunity to participate in choices and decisions regarding the delivery of their daily services and assistance. The staff of VUMH and WindsorMeade will support the residents in their decision-making process within the guidelines defining the various levels of service and care.
WindsorMeade, a full service retirement community for independent people 62 and older, operates as a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC). A continuing care retirement community is the most popular of retirement settings, because you are able to age in place, with plans to provide accommodations designed to meet your health and housing needs as your lifestyle changes. A CCRC typically offers a long-term contract or what might be called a residency agreement that gives you access to increased health services, within varying levels of care. All of these services should be provided on one campus, so you do not have to move when the health of you or your spouse changes. |
