Construction Update – August 25, 2017

The space that was formerly Hadley House’s Gathering Room will soon become a private dining room. The transformation is moving rapidly as:

  • The walls have been built and await painting.
  • The carpeting has been removed, making ready for the installation of the new flooring.
  • Construction will be complete in mid-September.

Dominion VA Power completed its work on the pump house. Testing continues and will conclude August 28.

Manchester House’s kitchen will be inspected by James City County officials for code compliance next week.

Renovation of the Hadley House living room, sun room and den is scheduled to begin around September 1. That construction will require the nurse’s station to be relocated.

The newly-renovated Health Services Beauty Salon now is scheduled to re-open on September 14. Until then, beauty services will continue to be available in the Beauty Salon on the first floor, where hours have been extended.

The Activities Room has not progressed as rapidly as anticipated. Every effort is being made to reach completion by September 1. Furnishings are scheduled to be delivered August 31.

Planting has been delayed until early fall because the weather is too oppressive for planting at this time.

Please use the Abingdon Neighborhood laundry room while Hadley House’s laundry room is unavailable.

The Hadley House Social Worker and the Recreation Therapist offices will relocate around September 5.

Team Member Updates

Beth Powell has been hired as the RN Clinical Leader for Abingdon and Manchester Neighborhoods.She is scheduled to begin orientation on September 6.A memo with additional details will be distributed next week.

Monthly Expansion Update Meetings

The next monthly expansion meeting is scheduled for September 11 at 9:30 am in the Kensington Room.
