For six decades, Virginia United Methodist Homes, Inc. (VUMH) has operated with the mission of providing quality facilities, services and programs to enhance the quality of life for the seniors they serve. Founded as a not-for-profit Virginia Corporation in 1945 by what is now The Virginia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church, VUMH has served as a driving force in establishing quality continuing care retirement communities throughout Virginia. Presently, VUMH owns and operates six communities throughout Virginia with all eligible communities being accredited by the Continuing Care Commission/CARF and the EAGLE program through the United Methodist Association of Health and Welfare Ministries. With this firm foundation in place and proven track record of success, VUMH is committed to building an even better tomorrow and looks forward to serving the needs of seniors for many years to come.
In 2003, Virginia United Methodist Homes, Inc. organized Virginia United Methodist Homes of Williamsburg, Inc. DBA WindsorMeade of Williamsburg, as an affiliate community of VUMH in Williamsburg, Virginia. WindsorMeade of Williamsburg is a 501 (c) 3, not for profit organization that is governed by a six member Board of Directors and is open to people of all faiths, creeds and national origins.
