There will be a water outage (both hot and cold water) in Health Services on Wednesday, March 1, from 7 to 10 p.m.
The Health Services Activity Room will close on March 23; activities will be scheduled in other locations. Please refer to the March Activities Calendar for specific information about alternative locations.
Shingle installation on Manchester House will begin as soon as the shingles are delivered to the worksite.
Work will continue for another week on the Hadley House roof, creating an increased noise level. Shingles will be installed in early March.
Construction has begun on a new dust/construction barrier. The main entrance into the Health Services entrance has been temporarily closed and will remain closed for about five weeks. Visitors to Hadley House arriving from the visitors’ parking lot should enter through the temporary entrance just to the left of the closed main entrance. Those who need wheel chair access should use the Team Member parking lot and enter through Abingdon House’s Living Room door.
Thank you for your patience while the Health Services visitor parking lot was closed earlier this month so the Hadley House expansion floor slab could be poured. The parking lot will again be closed February 22 – 25 so the roof trusses can be installed. As before, the parking lot closure at the end of the month will have significant impact on residents, team members and visitors, including visitors to Hadley and Abingdon Houses. Security will redirect visitors to available parking. Additionally, Independent Living residents who have Therapy, Transportation, Activity and Salon appointments will be impacted. Please park in the employee lot on the days you have appointments. Please note the Abingdon House’s Living Room doors will remain unlocked during the day so Independent Living residents can enter and exit. Because this work is critical to the construction calendar we may work on Sunday, February 26.
The Beauty Salon located in Health Services will close for renovation on March 20 with last appointments on March 19. That salon is expected to re-open around May 1. Beauty services will continue to be available in the Beauty Salon on the first floor, whose hours will be extended. Extended hours will be listed in The Whistler and on TouchTown TV.
There will be limited parking in the Health Services visitor lot on certain days over the next few weeks.
The next monthly expansion meeting is scheduled for March 13 at 9:30 a.m. in the Kensington Room.
