WindsorMeade is proud to announce their recent 5-star designation by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

WindsorMeade is the only Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) in the Williamsburg area with this prestigious ranking, and one of only four across Virginia with a 5-star distinction in all categories.

CMS compares all retirement communities that participate in Medicare or Medicaid through a set of quality star ratings. These ratings are based on multiple performance measures with ratings of one through five stars. WindsorMeade received top marks on all three categories, which include:

• Health Inspections – An unannounced onsite comprehensive annual inspection. The health inspection rating contains the three most recent health inspections that follow specific processes to determine the extent to which a facility has met Medicaid and Medicare quality requirements.
• Staffing Rating – Registered nurse hours per resident, day, and total staffing hours. This rating considers differences in the levels of residents’ care necessary in each facility.
• Quality Measures (QMs) – Performance measured on eight long-term and three short stays. These QMs offer information about how well facilities are caring for their residents’ physical and clinical needs.

Continuing the trend of good news from our regulatory agencies, WindsorMeade also holds a 3-year license for Assisted Living from the Virginia Department of Social Services (DSS), which is the longest licensure period that the state issues. Currently, WindsorMeade is the only Assisted Living community in Williamsburg with a 3-year license.
